The exhibition is supported by the Strathcona Enterprise Enchancment Affiliation (SBIA). Via this collaboration, Kwan and Lee hope to bridge native artists with Strathcona companies to foster a tradition of belonging and neighborhood help.
Collaborating companies embrace: Gallery 881, Printmaker Studio, Dawn Soya Meals, Dawn Market, Coolite Bamboo Merchandise, CINCO Drink Co, Allegra – Vancouver, and Alterior/A Residing Style. The method of making the sequence of artworks was deeply collaborative and made potential by the contributions of Jacky Huang, Hwahyoo Joh, Rachel Kwan, Ciara Kosai, Sabrina Wong, James Jin, Jason Chu, Lengthy Xi Vlessing, and Xin.
“The place I’m From” runs from February tenth to March ninth, 2024. Admission to the gallery exhibition is free and open from 10am-5pm Tuesday to Friday, from 12pm-5pm on Saturdays. Gallery 881 can be a part of the Vancouver Artwork Stroll within the Vancouver Arts District of Chinatown and Strathcona.
